About Me
Hello! My name is Robert Sims. I am first-year student at the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I am currently studying Agricultural Sciences with a concentration in Sustainable Cropping Systems.
My main areas of interest are within environmentalism and sustainable agriculture. As climate change becomes a greater threat, we must find ways to mitigate and adapt. My hope is to be in the vanguard of this effort and aid in creating a more sustainble, fair and equitable food production and distribution system.
Sustainability is an interdisciplinary study, a broad range of knowledge is needed to create long lasting solutions. I approach my education with an interdisciplinary mindset so I can understand and respond to these challenges. I focus on subjects in the physical sciences, social sciences, technology and arts. Doing this enables me to have unique insights into the systems underlying sustainability. By building a foundation that integrates analytical skills with ethical reasoning and scientific understanding, I am preparing to make meaningful contributions in an ever-evolving field where adaptability and cross-disciplinary collaboration are essential.
